This Dal vada or fritters can be taken as a snack or appetizer. Its really easy to prepare at home. Its made with Chana dal . In Eastern part of India i.e in Odisha it's a road side eatery usually

Ingredients:-
Chana dal 2 cups soaked for atleast 4-5 hours
Green chilli 2-3 finely chopped
Onion 2 medium finely chopped
Ginger around an inch grated
Curry leaves
Coriander Leaves chopped
Salt
Red chilli Powder
Method:-
Wash the dal properly and soak it for about 5 hours .
Now drain the water and and grind it in a food processor, adding a spoon of water a few times if needed.If there is some whole dals left also its okay..
Dont make it real paste..
Now add salt, redi chilli , green chilli , coriander leaves, ginger and curry leaves and mix it well.
Now take a kadhai or pan and heat the oil., then fry the fritters or vada. You can make any size you want round flat, bite size etc.
Fry till it becomes golden brown . Take it out and sprinkle some black salt.
Serve hot crispy vada with ketchup, and chutney.
